Welcome to Snaps & Stats

Hi, hey there, hello! I am Dan Pizzuta. You may know me as a football media member you've seen adjacent to one or several of your favorite football media members. I'm currently also adjacent to having an actual job as a football media member — so here we are.

Thank you for stopping by to check this out. I hope you stay awhile. But in full transparency, I hope this doesn't have to last that long. The nice thing about the last time I did something like this (I've migrated that old thing over to Ghost, so if this came to you by email: 1. thank you for signing up for that last thing and 2. it's going to be more of the same over here) is that it led to something else.

That continues to be the goal here. I know there are a lot of people who have enjoyed the independent world of journalism and newsletters. Maybe I will, too, but for now, I'd still love to be working for an actual company, writing and producing some of the best football content out there, and having you be able to access that for free.

That's why I'm currently keeping subscription costs at a relatively low $5 per month and only allowing a monthly option — I don't want anyone committing to an annual membership and me not fulfilling that investment. That could change if this really works and/or people feel differently, but that's where I stand at the moment. I'm accepting nominations now for Salesman of the Year.

There will also be plenty of free content from me across the internet. I'll still be freelancing for other outlets and there will be audio/video that will be elsewhere.

So, what can you expect here?

Plenty! I love writing, so there is going to be lots of it. If you're not familiar with my work, I try to contextualize what's happening on and off the field and why that matters.

I plan on bringing the Four Ups, Four Downs column here, looking at the good and bad of each week. I'll continue to dive into trends. We'll still have standalone articles on players/units/teams/things/whatever that stand out during the year.

At the moment, that will not include 1st & 10, the Monday morning recap column I've done since 2019. It's a bummer because I love doing it and, without bias, I believe it's been one of the best pieces of weekly content put out during the NFL season. But the lift of doing that column completely on my own and in the way that would make me happy with it doesn't seem feasible at the moment. That could change, who knows?

Other things you can do:

A sincere thank you for being here and for even having the curiosity to check this out. It means a lot that anyone would care — I don't take that lightly.

Football season is here. Let's go.
